Suzuki two wheelers legend, the Katana still remains the sharp suited motorcycle with mega performance.

First released in 1981, Suzuki refreshed the Katana nameplate in 2019 with a modern engine, new features and new colour concept for enthusiasts.

Compared to its 2020 model, the new Katana comes with gold forks, colour-coordinated wheels and grey rear suspension.

With a new dark tone seat, the bike also features Metallic Mat Stellar Blue and Solid Iron Grey colour options.

Apart from that, the Katana gets a few touch of electronics features.

As for the engine, the 2022 Katana retains the 999cc, inline-four cylinder engine which is an evolution of the one found in the GSX-R1000 K5.

And to ease night riding, Suzuki has equipped the dashboard of the new Katana with a “night” mode.

Loads of folks in and out of the motorcycling world fell head over heels when the new Suzuki Katana was launched not too long ago. 2019 looked like a good year for the latest-generation Katana but not without its steep price tag (around RM85,000 here in Malaysia). For those looking to ride their very own Katana without breaking the bank, here’s a kit that can solve that problem. (more…)

  • Motorcycle names can be as interesting as the bikes themselves.

  • There are ones which made you wonder what they mean.

  • There are just too many, thus we’ll break them into parts.

Motorcycle names can be as interesting as the bikes themselves. Manufacturers usually choose them based on heritage, branding, range or the kind of emotions they allude to.

There are too many to think about, so we’ll put in what comes to mind. Here’s Part 3.

12. Honda CBR1100XX Super Black Bird

The CBR1100XX was Honda’s weapon to wrest the world’s fastest production bike title back from the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-11. They succeeded in doing so. Honda named their bike after the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird spylane, which hit Mach 3.3 (3.3 times faster than the speed of sound) or 3529 km/h.

13. Suzuki Katana

Here’s a simple one. The iconic bike is named after the equally iconic Japanese Samurai sword. As such, the name alludes to something of cutting edge, sharp, just like the bike was when it broke new grounds in terms of motorcycle design.

14. Suzuki Hayabusa

Suzuki didn’t want to get left behind in the fastest production bike game and hit back with the Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa in 1999. Although it fell short of hitting the 200 mph (320 km/h) mark, it did go over 300 km/h thereby winning the game. The name “Hayabusa” is the Japanese peregrine falcon which could hit 390 km/h in a dive. But what most didn’t know is that one of its prey is the black bird. In other words, the Hayabusa is a “black bird” killer.

15. Yamaha Super Ténéré

The Yamaha Super Ténéré was the roadgoing adventure bike named in honour of the Paris-Dakar Rally winning bike. Ténéré means “desert” in the Berber (Northern African ethnic group) language. Had Yamaha used the Arabic word for desert, the bike would’ve been called the “Sahara.”

16. Yamaha Virago

The Virago is one of Yamaha’s cruiser range. Virago means a warrior woman, an amazon. Naming it Amazon wouldn’t have given the bike the right image since it’s not an adventure bike.

After releasing the Suzuki GSX-R1000R with their MotoGP livery for 2020, Suzuki also introduced another colour update for the 2020 Suzuki Katana. Hosting their first-ever virtual motorcycle show, fans and enthusiasts can check out the latest Suzuki Katana in super sexy red. (more…)

2019 was the year when the world was once again introduced to a brand-new Suzuki Katana and people have been going mad about the bike. Hitting that nostalgic button just at the right spot, they’ve now announced a super limited edition for the French market in collaboration with a very popular American company, Icon Motorsports. The Suzuki Katana has had quite a cult following ever since its birth ever since its release in the 1980s and the latest 2019 reincarnation model is nothing short of a crowd favourite from several markets around the globe. News about a ‘baby’ Katana model have been popping up and we might just see the appearance of the Suzuki Katana 125R sooner than we think. (more…)

Suzuki turut mengekalkan enjin 1.4L empat silinder turbo.

Harga ditawarkan bagi model ini adalah sekitar USD32,400 (RM134,703).
