Suzuki Hayabusa

Suzuki Malaysia has officially introduced the 2024 Hayabusa 25th Anniversary Edition to its local model line-up

The 25th Anniversary Model of Suzuki’s flagship sportbike once again showcases outstanding engineering. It features a powerful inline four-cylinder engine and a proven yet modernized chassis, all wrapped in sleek aerodynamic bodywork that is typically Hayabusa.

The 1,340cc engine makes 188hp and 150Nm of torque which means it is still one of the most powerful in the business.

The electronics of the 2024 Hayabusa are further enhanced with the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.), offering adjustable power delivery, advanced traction control, cruise control, launch control, quick shift functionality, and cutting-edge Motion Track ABS and Combined Brake systems. These electronic rider aids provide an unparalleled level of customization for an exhilarating and safe ride.

To celebrate its 25th Anniversary Edition Hayabusa sports special emblems and logos, unique gold-anodized components, and an iconic solo seat cowl. It’s also distinguished by its exclusive Glass Blaze Orange & Glass Sparkle Black paint and a red V-shaped graphic.

Various parts of the motorcycle bear 25th-anniversary logos, including the fuel tank, mufflers, and drive chain plates. The edition also features raised Suzuki lettering on the fuel tank and golden anodized front disc carriers and drive-chain adjusters.

This 25th Anniversary Edition is more than just a celebration; it represents Suzuki’s century-long dedication to creating high-quality, reliable, and valuable motorcycles.

The 2024 Hayabusa 25th Anniversary Edition is priced at RM115,900 (excluding insurance, road tax, and registration) and is available at all Suzuki Big Bike World showrooms nationwide. Visit your nearest authorized Suzuki dealership or the Suzuki Malaysia website at www.suzuki.com.my for more information.

Suzuki is set to showcase two unique Suzuki Hayabusa clad in a special livery inspired by the firm’s GSX-RR MotoGP racebike in Turin next week.

  • Suzuki to unveil Hayabusa GP edition in Turin.
  • The Hayabusa GP edition will sport GSX-RR livery.

The Japanese firm is set to exit the MotoGP world championship at the end of the 2022 season after announcing its plan to relocate the fund towards sustainability.

Although the news shocked every motorsport fan worldwide, especially Suzuki fanboys, the Hamamatsu factory could breathe easy knowing they’ve shown the world their capabilities after winning the MotoGP world championship just recently as 2020 with Joan Mir.

Now that the official confirmation is out, Suzuki is set to bid farewell to the competition by unleashing two unique Hayabusa’s.

The Japanese marquee will appear at the Autolook Week Torino festival in Turin with two distinctive Suzuki Hayabusa GP Edition.

The two Hayabusa features team Suzuki Ecstar GSX-RR inspired liveries, including the prominent blue and silver colourway and fluorescent red and yellow.

However, it is still unclear whether the two motorcycles will make their way to production or will be a one-off effort by Suzuki.

Suzuki has rolled out the new Swish 125 in Taiwan, which features the latest generation Hayabusa colourway.

The Swish 125 joins the recently launched Saluto 125 but offers a much sportier and modern exterior design than the latter.

For 2022, the Swish 125 gets a two-tone colourway similar to the Hayabusa that could be found on the scooter’s headlamp and body baseline.

However, no mechanical changes are done to the compact scooter as the 2022 Swish 125 still carry the same 124cc Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) engine capable of pumping 8.5hp and 9.6Nm of torque.

Meanwhile, the Swish 125 and other small capacity scooters are yet to be available in Malaysia.

Suzuki Malaysia currently offers the SV650, VStrom 650XT, GSX-S750, Katana 1000, GSX-R1000, GSX-R1000R, V-Strom 1050XT, Hayabusa and GSX-S1000.

The Hamamatsu Factory has just added a new colourway for the 2022 Suzuki Hayabusa.

The iconic sports bike is now available in pearl brilliant white with metallic matt stellar blue accents and chrome trim.

According to Suzuki, the new paint job now joins the existing black and range, and matt silver with red colour trim its global launch.

Nevertheless, the third generation Hayabusa continues to offer the same electronic suite and specs for 2022 which includes 10 lean angle-sensitive traction control modes, lean angle-sensitive ABS, three power modes, a quickshifter, cruise control and a speed limiter.

All of its electronic can be accessed via a full-colour TFT display.

The revamped Hayabusa also features new pistons, conrods, crankshaft and camshaft which aimed to boost performance in the lower and mid rev ranges.

The all-new ‘Busa has also landed in Malaysia for a price of RM111,200.

The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa and Suzuki V-Strom 1050 XT are now available in Malaysia for a price of RM111,200 and RM81,900 respectively.

Suzuki also equipped the V-Strom with SIRS (Suzuki Intelligent Ride System) designed to improve comfort and practicality and also the Motion Track Brake System that helps to prevent mid-corner braking kickback.

Both of these models are now available at Suzuki Malaysia’s authorised dealership.

The 2022 Suzuki Hayabusa officially launched in the Philippines less than six months after the global release in February 2021.

The newly improved Hayabusa was at the heart of Suzuki’s latest 2022 range, including the GSX-S1000, GSX-S950 and the upcoming GSX-S1000T.

For 2022, the Hayabusa continues to be powered by a 1,340cc inline-four engine capable of producing 187hp @ 9,700rpm and 150Nm @ 7,000rpm.

However, the revised engine (now meets Euro 5 emission standard) makes less horsepower than the previous generation.

Nonetheless, the 2022 Hayabusa features loads of technological advancement, including an all-new six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that runs the traction control, cornering ABS and wheelie control.

It also comes equipped with three riding modes and customizable settings that can be easily accessed via the TFT instrument.

The all-new ‘Busa now available in the Philippines for a price of PHP1.1mil (RM93,000).

Finally, after 14 years since the second generation, Hayabusa was presented to the world, Suzuki Motorcycle introduces the all-new Hayabusa via Suzuki Motorcycle Global Salon.

The third generation Hayabusa has gone through a major makeover for 2021 with a sharper and sleek exterior including an all-new electronic package.

According to Suzuki, the new Hayabusa received more than 550 new parts with the goal was to make the ever-powerful motorcycle easier to handle with advanced electronic riding aid.

Apart from electronic gizmos, the 1,340cc inline-four engine (now Euro 5 compliant) produces 187hp @ 9,700rpm and 150Nm @ 7,000rpm and paired to a 6-speed transmission.

Although the numbers are lower than the previous generation Suzuki claimed the new engine delivers better power delivery at low and mid-rpm.

Major changes to the engine include revised cam profiles, redesigned combustion chamber and redesigned crankcase which helps to improved durability and improved oil lubrication.

Other major changes include a new exhaust system, ride-by-wire, and Suzuki Ram Air Direct.

The 2021 ‘Busa is packed with fully adjustable suspension units from KYB while the braking is done by the top-notch Brembo Stylema calipers with 320mm disc front and 310mm at the rear.

Did we mention that the ‘Busa comes with Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22 tires as standard? It does.

Suzuki also managed to inject lots of electrical aid mainly the Suzuki Intelligent Ride Suite (SIRS) managed by a 6-axis IMU which get you the following:

  • wheelie control
  • launch control
  • engine brake control
  • rear-wheel lift control
  • three power maps
  • hill hold control
  • speed limiter

To make things fun, Suzuki fitted the Hayabusa with an up/down quickshifter and cruise control which can be set as low as 30km/h up to 200km/h.

Clearly, there is a lot to be excited about with the new Hayabusa and we hope it will reach our shores soon!
