Penganjur kejohanan MotoE World Cup telah mengesahkan bahawa punca kebakaran berkenaan adalah sebuah litar pintas.
Gudang sementara bersama dengan jentera dan kelengkapan MotoE di Litar Jerez itu habis musnah dijilat api.
Kebakaran itu telah membantutkan baki ujian pra musim dan juga pusingan pertama pada bulan Mei yang akan datang.

Cause of MotoE Fire Confirmed

Organizers of the MotoE World Cup confirmed that a short circuit ignited the batteries.
The huge fire destroyed at the temporary storage, MotoE bikes and equipment at the Jerez Circuit.
The fire cancels the remaining pre-season tests and first round in May.

Organizers of the MotoE World Cup confirmed that a short circuit ignited the batteries which consequently led to a huge fire at the Jerez, Circuit in Spain.

The fire broke out around midnight, destroyed all 18 Energica Ego race bikes, equipment, tools and riders’ gear and kits. They were stored in a temporary paddock for the 2019 FIM Enel MotoE World Cupt pre-season tests.

The grid includes the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) team.

The first round of the inaugural championship which is slated to take place from 3^rdto 5^thMay is cancelled. Thankfully, the championship is still on for the year.

Local police are still investigating the fire but announced that it was caused by a short circuit. The short then ignited the high-density battery, which is a part of the high-performance charger used in MotoE. However, that caused the short was not confirmed.

Short circuits cause a suddenly rise in temperature leading to thermal runaway for the lithium batteries. Consequently, a chain reaction leads to the breakdown of the system’s thermal balance and fire.

The bikes were not connected to the charging infrastructure when the fire broke out.

2019 FIM Enel MotoE World Cup Grid, Regulations, Schedule Confirmed

The 2019 Enel MotoE World Cup grid, regulations and schedule have been confirmed.
18 riders will take part in the inaugural series.
There are five rounds next year.

The 2019 FIM Enel MotoE World Cup grid, regulations and schedule are confirmed.

Next year’s MotoE championship is the inaugural international electric motorcycle racing competition. It is set up in view of electric vehicle rulings in the coming two decades.

The FIM has published the full 2019 FIM Enel MotoE World Cup 18-bike grid, regulations and schedules.

Motorcycle

All riders will ride the same Energica Ego Corsa.
Battery capacity approximately 20 kWh.
Battery power 120 kW (160 bhp).
Maximum speed 270 km/h.
Brembo brakes, Ohlins suspension, Marchesini wheels.
Michelin tyres.
The motorcycles are identical but certain parts are adjustable to riders’ preferences.
All bikes are charged with solar panels supplied by Enel.

Race Schedule

FP1 and FP2 practice sessions on Friday.
Qualifying on Saturday.
Race on Sunday begins before Moto3 race.
The inaugural season features five rounds at Jerez, Le Mans, Sachsenring, Spielberg and Misano (two races).

Sporting Regulations

MotoE riders are not allowed to race in any Grand Prix class during the five dates.

Tyre regulations

Michelin are supplying one front and rear slick, plus one front and rear wet tyres per race weekend.
Total tyres per year will not exceed four front and five rear slicks, plus three front and four rear rain tyres.

Sepang International Circuit (SIC) Team Joins FIM Enel MotoE

The inaugural FIM Enel MotoE World Cup for electric motorcycles will begin in 2019.
The riders will be riding the electric Energica motorcycle.
Sepang International Circuit will field a team with a single entry.

The inaugural FIM Enel MotoE World Cup electric motorcycle GP will commence in 2019 and the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) will also field a team.

The announcement was made during the third MotoE Team Committee at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. SIC’s participation in the series takes the grid to 12 teams with a total of 18 bikes, as there are teams that chose to enter one rider (such as SIC) or two. All teams will ride the same Energica MotoE bike.

The teams with one entry are:

Sepang International Circuit (SIC);
Marc VDS Racing Team;
Ajo Motorsport;
Pons Racing;
Dynavolt Intact GP;
SIC58 Squadra Corse.

Teams with two entries are:

Tech 3 Racing;
LCR Team;
Pramac Racing;
Esponsorama Racing;
Gresini Racing;
Angel Nieto Team.

The committee also outlined other details such as test dates, sponsors and technical partners.

All tests will be conducted at Jerez on these dates:

23^rd to 25^th November 2018;
13^th to 15^th March 2019;
23^rd to 25^th April 2019.

The full calendar for the inaugural FIM Enel MotoE World Cup is expected to be published during the San Marino GP, while the rider line-up will be revealed at the Aragon GP. The MotoE series augurs well with the development of electric motorcycles ahead of new petrol-powered vehicle bans in a number of countries within the next decade.
