Ducati Scrambler Icon

Ducati has announced the start of production of its new Scrambler motorcycle at the Borgo Panigale plant. 

  • Next-generation Ducati Scrambler officially rolls into the production line at the Borgo Panigale factory. 
  • The new Scrambler comes in three modes; Icon, Full Throttle and Nightshift. 

The new bike, which was already showcased in the seventh episode of the Ducati World Premiere 2023, is a complete renovation of the iconic model that maintains the original energy and spirit of the Scrambler family that has made it a worldwide success.

The new Ducati Scrambler features a captivating and modern design that is accessible and safe for everyday use. It is dedicated to those who seek freedom and wish to express their lifestyle through their choices. The production of the first unit was celebrated at the new Finitura e Delibera Estetica building, where CEO Claudio Domenicali christened the bike.

The new Scrambler offers customization possibilities that go beyond the previous model, thanks to the new Icon tank. The cover of the coloured portion can be easily replaced, as can the mudguards, rim tags and headlamp covers. The new model comes in nine colours, including three basic colours and six other options available as an accessory kit.

With a weight reduction of 4 kg, the new Ride-by-Wire and Quick Shift accessory, the Ducati Scrambler offers a brilliant and safe ride. The bike is more modern, digital, and technological thanks to Riding Modes, Ducati Traction Control, and the new colour TFT dashboard. All these features maintain the simplicity and authenticity that have always represented essential values for all Ducati Scrambler enthusiasts.

The new Scrambler comes in three models – Icon, Full Throttle, and Nightshift. All models offer a relaxed riding position and low weight, providing enthusiasts of all experience and abilities with great riding pleasure, both in urban journeys and on trips out of town. The Scrambler family has always been a fan favourite, and the new generation is set to continue that legacy.

Agreement with parent company Volkswagen sees Ducati assembling CKD bikes in Argentina, starting with the Scrambler range.

Next Bike Sdn Bhd melancarkan empat model Ducati  Scrambler dalam majlis Ducati Malaysia  Premier  2019 yang berlangsung di Naza Automall, hari ini.

Empat model tersebut adalah Ducati Scramber 800 Desert Sled,  Scrambler 800 Icon,  Scrambler 800 Cafe Racer dan Scrambler 800 Full Throttle.

Kini model yang disuntik dengan DNA jentera 70an ini telah pun mendarat di Malaysia.

Keempat empat model dilengkapi dengan Ducati Multimedia System yang membenarkan penunggang mendengar lagu dalam kesibukan ibu kota.

Bagi mereka yang mengikuti perkembangan American Super Hooligan Championship 2018 pastinya menyedari bahawa pilihan warna Scrambler Full Throttle lahir daripada jentera ditunggangi pelumba Frankie Garcia.

Daripada aspek kuasa,  Full Throttle mendapat suntikan enjin Desmodromic 803cc L-Twin yang menjana 73hp pada 8,250rpm.

In addition to the other five 2019 Ducati models, Ducati Malaysia also launched the 2019 Ducati Scrambler Icon, Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle, Ducati Scrambler Café Racer, Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled as part of the Scrambler 800 range.

The Ducati Scrambler line-up offers bikes for carefree and joyful riding, and self-expression; all wrapped up in a modern-classic outlook. All four bikes share the same platform, with distinctive features to differentiate them.

For 2019, the Scrambler 800 underwent what Ducati calls a “Joyvolution.”

The shared new features are:
  • 803cc, air-cooled, 2-valve, 90oV-Twin which produces 73 hp (54 kW) at 8,250 RPM and 67 Nm at 5,750 RPM.
  • Hydraulically-actuated clutch with self-servo feature.
  • Adjustable clutch lever.

  • Premium LED daytime running light (DRL).

2019 Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle – From RM 62,900

As the name suggests, the Scrambler Full Throttle is the “muscle bike” of the line-up. It’s as if someone fed the Icon with A1 grain but laced with hormones.

Highlights:

New black-and-yellow colour scheme inspired by California racer Frankie Garcia who took part in the 2018 American Super Hooligan Championship.

2019 Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled 67,900

What’s a desert sled? Back in the 60’s and 70’s, American bikers in California and Baja stripped bikes of parts to reduce weight and fitted off-road tyres, spoked wheels, modified suspension and engine skid plates, and raced them in the desert.

Thus, true to its name, the Scrambler Desert Sled is the off-road variant in the line-up.

Tiada siapa yang dapat mengungkapkan dengan kata-kata perasaan memulakan enjin sebuah motosikal asing buat julung kalinya. Deruman enjin yang memulakan nafas pertama setelah lahir dari kilang seakan memberikan imej lemah sebelum ngauman sebenar menyerlah.

Demikian penjelasan mudah saat memulas ‘throttle’ Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled dan Icon ketika sesi ujian yang berlangsung di Phuket, Thailand, baru-baru ini.

Menurut Ducati, Desert Sled merupakan gabungan sifat ‘off-road’ dan scrambler pada era 60an dan 70an namun kami berasakan Ducati cuba bersifat rendah diri kerana sifat sebenar jentera ini lebih dari itu!

Melihat rupa keseluruhan, perkara pertama yang menarik perhatian si pemerhati adalah rangka yang berwarna merah yang telah diperkukuhkan bagi menahan hentakan terutamanya melalui permukaan yang kurang memaafkan.

Dibantu dengan sistem penyerap hentakan depan boleh laras dan penyerap hentakan belakang Kayaba jentera ini paling sesuai bagi mereka yang gemar meredah bonggol tanpa perlu memperlahankan jentera.

Enjin bersasaran 803 cc yang menghasilkan 73hp pada 8250rpm sememangnya kelihatan agak rendah bagi sebuah jentera Ducati tetapi kuasa bukanlah segalanya apatah lagi bagi jentera yang bukan dihasilkan untuk mencapai kelajuan tinggi.

Di atas jalan raya, prestasi Desert Sled boleh dianggap biasa tetapi sebaik memasuki ‘off-road’ kuda liar yang sebelum ini terkurung di kandang mula menampakkan wajah sebenar.

Usah gusar kerana kuda liar ini mudah dijinakkan meskipun bagi seorang penunggang amatur tetapi apa yang penting adalah perlunya berasa yakin terhadap teknologi dan sistem elektronik Ducati terutamanya tetapan Off-Road dan Bosch ABS Cornering yang memainkan peranan besar.

Sepanjang menyelusuri laluan berbatu dan berlubang di kawasan hutan dan ladang di Phuket, tayar belakang sentiasa membaling kiri dan kanan namun tunggangan masih terasa terkawal meskipun dengan kelajuan sekitar 70 hingga 80 km/j.

Tempat duduk Desert Sled juga empuk bagaikan duduk di atas kerusi sofa direka untuk golongan berada. Ketinggian juga menawarkan perasaan lebih selesa – bagi mereka yang berketinggian lebih 175 cm – jika dibandingkan dengan jentera Scrambler Icon.

Secara keseluruhan, Desert Sled adalah jentera yang menyeronokkan untuk ditunggang terutamanya memasuki ‘off-road’. Jangan bimbang jika tidak memiliki pengalaman sehebat Gabit kerana teknologi dimiliki jentera ini memadai untuk membuat setiap penunggang tampak hebat!

Sementara itu, jentera Ducati Scrambler Icon, ternyata membawa kepada pengalaman yang lebih berbeza. Meskipun berkongsi saiz enjin yang sama (803cc dengan 73hp) namun Ducati menyuntik perwatakan berbeza. Jika Desert Sled umpama kuda liar, Icon merupakan adiknya yang telah dijinakkan.

Scrambler Ducati – Land of Joy Asia – Khao Lak 2019

Icon mengekalkan ciri Scrambler namun lebih berkonsepkan penggunaan harian. Rekaan keseluruhan juga tampak lebih ‘cool’ berbanding Desert Sled.

Perbezaan paling ketara antara kedua-dua model ini adalah, Icon tidak terlalu tinggi seperti Desert Sled dan kedudukan handle juga tidak terlalu lebar sekaligus menjanjikan pengalaman tunggangan yang lebih selesa sepertimana yang dtekankan Ducati.

Scrambler Ducati – Land of Joy Asia – Khao Lak 2019

Meskipun kedua-duanya menghasilkan kuasa yang sama namun prestasi Desert Sled lebih ‘raw’ sementara Icon lebih terkawal sekaligus memudahkan tunggangan.

Kedua-dua jentera ini ternyata dihasilkan bagi memenuhi dua individu yang berbeza namun keduanya memancar identiti Ducati yang sama, keterujaan tak terhingga tanpa mengira permukaan dan keadaan jalan.
